Chief Ballew joined the Edgecliff Village Fire Department in 1999 and has served as Firefighter, Apparatus Operator, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Assistant Chief before being selected as Fire Chief in 2010.
Currently, he holds certifications as an Accredited Advanced Firefighter, Instructor I, Training Coordinator, Fire Prevention Specialist II, and Fire Investigator through SFFMA. He is a state certified EMT and holds Basic Fire Inspector and Basic Fire Investigator certifications through the TCFP as well as an AEMD certification through the NAED.
Chief Ballew is an active and contributing member of the Tarrant County Firefighter's Association, Tarrant County Fire Chief's Association, International Association of Fire Chiefs, Texas State Firemans and Fire Marshals Association, and the Texas State Fire Marshals Association.
